Gambia Participates is a youth-led civil society organization that focuses on strengthening transparency and accountability in the public sector. The organization uses youth friendly approaches to disseminate public information that is not made available.
On budget transparency, GP partners with globally known organizations to conduct national budget survey and use the survey result to advocate for new policies. Through its well-known “Follow The Money” campaign, the organization tracks projects meant for rural communities and make sure they are judiciously used. GP also uses digital tools like Marble to promote election transparency. There are seven board members with 62 volunteers in the seven regions of The Gambia. Gambia Participates is located in Kanifing (Greater Banjul Area) and it has local chapters around the country. With Transparency International on the line to work with GP on anti-corruption projects starting 2019, the main partners of GP are the U.S Embassy Banjul and the International Republican Institute (IRI).
